Raising Awareness Through Journalism: Kristen

Today, I wanted to share a truly incredible video produced by Kristen Kiraly, my brother’s girlfriend, and a close friend of mine.

The video, entitled God Willing: A Struggle out of Homelessness takes you through the journey of a determined and driven young boy, Albert Davis Jr.  Albert has gone from living on the streets to working towards his goals and “reaching for the moon”.  Kristen’s video is very well done, with beautiful shots throughout.

I think that using writing, video, or photography to instill positive change is a very powerful tool.  I admire anyone and everyone who takes the steps in order to inspire such change.

Thanks for taking a look! xo

Tunes Tuesday: Featherstone

I have already shared the song Bloom by The Paper Kites, a wonderfully talented Australian band.

Today, I want to share Featherstone, an equally lovely song, with a very beautiful video that is very Where-the-Wild-Things-Are-esque.

The video reminds me of playing in the woods with my cousins when I was little, making forts… so carefree and fun!

… Am I the only one who wants to parade around in a feather headband, and have an epic pillow-fight after watching this?!

Pleats be kind

AND SO… to continue on with my tradition of using cheesy song lyrics as the title of my posts, I of course chose a song by none other than ‘Ol Blue Eyes / Francis Albert Sinatra: my favorite artist of all time. ALL time.
ANYHOW…
The outfit I wore today!
I was in a fantabulous mood today, and it felt pretttttty awesome.
That is Pride and Prejudice on my ottoman.  Giving it another read!
The gorgeous necklace mom gave me for Christmas.  This will definitely be a wear-with-every-outfit-and-never-take-it-off kind of necklace!  I think it also layers well with my other long necklaces.
Another accessory that I will be sporting a ton that I rediscovered the other day! (haha, sporting.) So simple, but I really had forgotten how much I love headbands, and bows! I have another hair bow that I made that I will share soon.
LOVE this skirt.  I think the pleats are very fun yet classic.  I also paired it with a sheer top that has some pleating as well!
Evidence of my sheer happiness today! (Sunshine! Rainbows! haha) Gotta love Instagram.

What I am “sporting”: (apparently I am using this a lot today)
Sheer top: Anthropologie
Camisole/slip:  Pure & Good from Anthropologie
Skirt: Leifsdottir from Anthropologie
Tights: J Crew
Boots: Liz Claiborne

A live recording of Frank performing “Please Be Kind” (swoon)
Enjoy! xo
